First glimpse of new Mater Private Hospital Springfield virtual tour
A new flythrough video of stage one of Mater Private Hospital Springfield has been produced to give people a taste of what the hospital will look like when it opens by the end of this year.

The animation takes you through the hospital, with images of the main reception area, an inpatient room, as well as the cancer care centre.

With modern furnishings and décor, the interior of the hospital provides an inviting and calming space for patients and their families.

The interior design was finalised as a result of a consumer engagement process whereby more than 100 people visited two prototype rooms replicating a patient ward and cancer care treatment pod. Useful feedback was provided on the layout, design and décor of the rooms.

Construction is progressing to schedule with both the interior and exterior of the building taking shape. Scaffolding is gradually being removed to show the exterior of the building while installation of services is continuing across all floors.

Located at Springfield Central, the hospital will provide a range of medical and surgical services as well as a combination of inpatient, day and chemotherapy beds to be supported by $21.4 million in Australian Government funding for a cancer care centre.

Mater has a master plan for the hospital precinct within Health City Springfield Central, which incorporates a number of expansion stages which will be rolled out to meet the demands of the region.
