The Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital is the premier maternity facility in the southern hemisphere with 90 private maternity beds and 16 birthing rooms.
Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital (MMPH) provides integrated tertiary services for women and babies including

An expanded Neonatal Critical Care Unit provides 79 cot spaces including intensive care, high dependency and special care cots, making it one of the biggest neonatal critical care units in Australia.
Additional services within the new facility is a pregnancy assessment and observation unit, collocated with the birth suite. Managed by Mater Mothers’ midwives, this unit enables women with pregnancy related concerns to be reviewed in a setting that is comfortable and inviting. Women have the ability to access the support of obstetric, medical and allied health professionals as required.

- an Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit
- single rooms with ensuites
- five larger single rooms (one on each inpatient level) with disabled access
- rooms with access to external views, natural light, personal baby bathing facilities and ensuites

- integrated technology to provide more efficient monitoring for high risk women

Access to Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital is via the main hospital entrance on level 5, or level 2 of Mater Adult Hospital.
Maps, parking and transport information
Parking is available at the Mater Hill and Hancock Street Car Parks. These car parks are not always attended; therefore payment should be made at the designated pay stations prior to returning to your car. On-street metered parking is regulated by Brisbane City Council.
