Biography
Dr Akshay Mishra is a highly experienced interventional cardiologist practising at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton.
Dr Mishra completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Medical Doctor degree at the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India.
In Australia, he initially trained at the Canberra Hospital before commencing cardiology training at the Gold Coast and Prince Charles hospitals in Queensland.
Dr Mishra has also trained extensively in complex coronary and peripheral interventions at the prestigious Lennox Hill Hospital in New York in the United States.
He is accredited in performing transcatheter aortic valve implantations and his special interests within cardiology include primary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction, complex coronary and peripheral interventions.
Dr Mishra is also a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland Medical School.
